Prisoner’s Pardon Advocacy

Justice. Respect. Accountability. Forgiveness.

Prisoner’s Pardon Advocacy (PPA) is a non-profit organization that addresses the difficulties facing the formerly incarcerated. Our primary tool: a proprietary Forgiveness RE-Model Support, developed to help restore these individuals to healthy, happy, productive lives.

The challenges of

re-entry

Returning to society after incarceration is fraught with challenges at every turn.

The stigma associated with having a criminal record can be a significant barrier to meeting such fundamental human needs as finding stable housing, securing a decent job, and re-establishing relationships with family and friends. And these challenges are often compounded by the emotional burdens carried by many of these individuals—especially guilt, shame, and a lack of self-respect and self-confidence.

The 7-step Forgiveness

RE-Model Support

What sets Prisoner’s Pardon Advocacy apart from other re-entry approaches is our unique, 7-step forgiveness RE-Model Support program.

Unlike many models, ours acknowledges personal, spiritual, and societal forgiveness as crucial elements of successful reintegration and eventual pardon. Just as important, it balances these elements with the need for justice, respect, and accountability.

This innovative approach equips individuals with a simple, logically structured framework for addressing the most complex challenges they face. It takes a holistic approach to re-entry, addressing the emotional, cognitive and behavioral issues that can too often lead to a cycle of recidivism.

The Forgiveness RE-Model emphasizes three key dimensions:

  • Spiritual forgiveness: Exploring and reconciling one’s relationship with faith and spirituality.

  • Self forgiveness: Acknowledging one’s past mistakes and cultivating compassion for oneself.

  • Societal forgiveness: Navigating reintegration into society by overcoming stigmas and building supportive relationships.

The 7-Step Forgiveness RE-Model Support program can be applied to both juveniles and adults, including those with minor mental-health disorders or AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse). It’s a truly versatile tool for a wide range of individuals seeking the path to healing and positive change.

Our mission

At Prisoner’s Pardon Advocacy, our mission is to help the formerly incarcerated enjoy the benefits of forgiveness—whether that means via personal or legal pardons, or both—to profit themselves, their families, and their communities.

That means, first and foremost, providing direct support to individuals. But it also means educating other organizations on incorporating forgiveness principles into their own programming, thereby expanding the reach and impact of this powerful approach to rehabilitation.

By fostering forgiveness, PPA aims to break the cycle of recidivism while creating a more just and compassionate society.
